The company showcased the new vehicles as part of its comprehensive range of buses catering to school transport, staff mobility, city operations, intercity services and tourism. As demand grows for vehicles that deliver higher uptime, improved passenger comfort, lower operating costs and enhanced safety, Eicher aims to address these requirements through purpose-built products backed by connected technologies and an extensive service network. The launch also aligns with the event’s theme, “Towards Safe, Smart & Sustainable Public Transport.”

Suresh Chettiar, Executive Vice President – Bus Division, VE Commercial Vehicles, added, “The Skyline Pro E Intercity demonstrates that electric mobility is now ready for intercity operations, while the Starline 2050 E Maxicab addresses the growing demand for premium tourism and group travel. Together, these products reflect our commitment to combining advanced technology, operational efficiency, and passenger comfort to deliver mobility solutions designed for India’s evolving transportation landscape.”

The Skyline Pro E 12-m Intercity Electric Bus has been developed to extend electric mobility beyond city transportation into long-distance passenger operations. Built on a dedicated electric platform, the coach offers zero-emission mobility while ensuring commercial viability through lower energy consumption, reduced maintenance requirements, connected diagnostics and Eicher’s uptime ecosystem. Equipped with 100% connected vehicle technology and My Eicher telematics, the bus enables real-time fleet monitoring and operational intelligence.

Configured to accommodate 44 passengers along with a driver and co-driver, the electric coach features ergonomically designed premium seats, including push-back seating in the last row for enhanced comfort. Passenger amenities include individual USB charging ports, ambient lighting, foldable food trays, footrests, magazine holders and dual 24-inch LED televisions. The bus also offers more than five cubic metres of luggage space through overhead racks and a spacious rear luggage compartment.

Safety and driver convenience have been given equal priority with features such as a 360-degree camera system, water-level submerged warning system, front disc brakes, rear drum brakes, dual-port fast charging with water-ingress protection and an air-suspended driver’s seat for reduced fatigue during long-distance operations.

Eicher also introduced the Starline 2050 E Maxi Cab, developed to cater to the expanding regional tourism and group travel segment. Powered by a four-cylinder engine and built on a 3,300 mm wheelbase, the vehicle combines fuel-efficient performance with low operating costs and connected vehicle capabilities through the MyEicher platform and the company’s uptime ecosystem.

Designed in an 11+1+D seating configuration, the maxi cab offers push-back seats, refined noise and vibration levels, generous luggage space and passenger-focused comfort features. Safety equipment includes three-point seat belts, disc brakes, a collapsible steering column and a rear anti-roll bar to enhance stability, making the vehicle suitable for highway travel as well as hilly terrains.

With the introduction of these two new passenger vehicles, Eicher Trucks & Buses continues to strengthen its presence across India’s passenger transportation sector while advancing sustainable mobility, operational efficiency and improved travel experiences for operators and commuters alike.
