GAIL partners TUSCO for 600 MW solar project in Uttar Pradesh

GAIL (India) Ltd has entered into contract agreements with TUSCO for the development of a 600 MW solar power project at the latter’s solar park in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, strengthening its push towards clean energy integration.

The project will be supported by a 550 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), aimed at ensuring grid stability and uninterrupted power supply. The generated power will primarily cater to the captive energy requirements of GAIL’s petrochemical complex at Pata in Auraiya district. It is also expected to address rising energy needs linked to the electrification of gas-based operations and the expansion of compressed biogas (CBG) plants across the state.

The initiative reflects GAIL’s broader strategy to diversify its energy portfolio with a stronger focus on low-carbon solutions, while simultaneously reinforcing its operational presence in Uttar Pradesh.
