Gujarat has taken a significant step toward strengthening its advanced manufacturing ecosystem by entering into a strategic agreement with Taiwan-based Allegiance International Co to establish an Indo-Taiwan Industrial Park in the Sanand–Dholera belt.
The collaboration, formalised between the state’s Department of Science and Technology and the Taiwanese company, is aimed at accelerating investments in high-technology sectors, particularly semiconductors and electronics manufacturing. The proposed park is expected to draw foreign direct investment exceeding Rs 1,000 crore from Taiwanese enterprises over the next five years, while also generating an estimated 12,000 direct jobs.
Designed as a specialised manufacturing cluster, the development will cater to semiconductor fabrication, electronics production, and allied technology-driven industries. The initiative aligns with India’s broader push to build a robust domestic semiconductor ecosystem and reduce reliance on imports in critical technology segments.
Gujarat continues to position itself as a key destination for next-generation industrial investments, with projects worth over Rs 1.24 lakh crore already underway. The addition of the Indo-Taiwan Industrial Park is set to further deepen cross-border industrial cooperation and enhance supply chain integration across sectors such as electric mobility, robotics, and advanced engineering components.
The project is also expected to facilitate closer collaboration between Indian and Taiwanese companies, creating a platform for technology exchange, manufacturing partnerships, and long-term industrial growth.
