IOCL plans to supply aviation turbine fuel up to Jewar airport

The Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) is seeking to build a pipeline to supply aviation turbine fuel at the upcoming Jewar airport in the State of Uttar Pradesh. The company has submitted an expression of interest (EoI) to the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board in this regard. The board has launched a public consultation and will accept comments on IOCL’s proposal until 18 February 2021.

IOCL plans to build 36 km pipeline from its supply centre at Palwal in Haryana to Jewar airport. The fuel will be sourced from Indian Oil’s refinery at Mathura. The company expects the planned pipeline to meet an estimated ATF demand of 0.7 million tonne a year by 2029-30, and 1.8 million tonne a year by 2039-40. The company currently operates around 15,000 km of hydrocarbon pipelines in the country.
