JSW Steel has announced the commissioning of its cutting-edge hot strip mill at its integrated plant in Vijayanagar, Karnataka. The mill, boasting an annual capacity of 5 MT, marks a pivotal step forward for the company in enhancing its manufacturing capabilities.

Operated by JSW Vijayanagar Metallics Ltd (JVML), a wholly-owned subsidiary of JSW Steel, the hot strip mill has now commenced operations with its inaugural dispatch of steel products. This achievement signals the beginning of a new era for JSW Steel in the realm of steel manufacturing.

The hot strip mill is equipped with advanced features including digital reheating furnaces, evaporative cooling systems, and a waste heat recovery system. These features underscore JSW Steel’s commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology into its production processes.

Following the lighting up of the facility on March 17, 2024, rigorous trial runs and quality testing have been undertaken to ensure the mill meets the highest standards. With these tests successfully completed, commercial manufacturing and sales have commenced, marking a significant milestone for JSW Steel.

The commissioning of the hot strip mill not only enhances JSW Steel’s production capacity but also positions the company to meet the growing demand for steel products.
