Mahindra Logistics breaks ground for state-of-the-art warehousing facility near Pune

Mahindra Logistics marks a milestone, breaking ground for a cutting-edge 6.5 lakh sq ft warehousing facility near Pune.

In a significant move to fortify its position as one of India’s leading integrated logistics solutions providers, Mahindra Logistics Ltd (MLL) has unveiled plans for a state-of-the-art warehousing facility in Phaltan, near Pune. Covering an expansive 6.5 lakh sq ft, this facility will be developed in two phases, with the first phase, comprising 3.5 lakh sq ft, slated for operational readiness by the end of 2024.

Situated over 25 acre in Phaltan, the upcoming facility will play a pivotal role in Mahindra Logistics Ltd’s nationwide network of multi-client facilities. Recognized as a strategic location in close proximity to key customers in the automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and components sectors, Phaltan is poised to become a logistical hub.

The Phaltan facility will serve as the linchpin for Mahindra Logistics’ management of inbound logistics, manufacturing, and distribution solutions for diverse clients in the automotive and manufacturing sectors within the region. Integrated with MLL’s national network of warehouses, full truck load, and express parcel services, Phase 1 of the facility has already been contracted to a manufacturing customer and is slated to go live by Q3 of the fiscal year 2024-25.

This expansive warehouse ranks among the largest in the region, reflecting Mahindra Logistics Ltd’s commitment to sustainability. The facility will adhere to the company’s high sustainability standards, encompassing measures such as decarbonization, renewable power utilization, adherence to green warehousing standards, and active participation in local community development.

As part of this development, Mahindra Logistics Ltd is set to channel resources into skill development initiatives, creating employment opportunities for over 500 individuals in the region. The company, along with its partners, plans to invest Rs 170 crore in capital across multiple phases for the comprehensive development of the new facility and its related infrastructure.

Our latest facility in Phaltan is strategically located to augment the overall business ecosystem for our valued clientele in the region. The facility will be integrated with our national network of multi-client facilities, express, and Full truckload operations providing enhanced reach and service levels to our customers. It embodies our commitment to delivering world-class, technology-driven solutions and aligns with our vision to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040.”
