Ramco Cements to set up new projects worth Rs 600 crore

Ramco Cements will set up new projects worth over Rs 600 crore, as per reports. The company will set up new clinker line with 3,000 tpd, while old kiln of 1,450 tpd will be de-commissioned. The net increase in clinkerisation capacity will be from 1.09 million tpa to 1.44 million tpa. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 476 crore. The company has placed orders with FL Smidth for main machinery of Kiln, cooler, raw mill 200 TPH x two, VRM 24 TPH, additive stacker, raw meal silo, clinker silo at factory and lime stone benefication plant at mines. The civil work order is also finalised. The public hearing for the project has been completed and EC expected by September 2021, add reports. The project is expected to commission in 15 months from receipt of EC.

Apart from this, additional capacity will be built for dry mortar business. The company will set up two plants in Tamil Nadu, one plant in Odisha and one plant in Andhra Pradesh. The plants are to be located within the precincts to the existing cement units. The proposed capacity is 30 TPH for each unit. The estimated cost of each project is Rs 40 crore. The plant will produce high-value products viz. waterproofing, repair products, flooring screeds including liquid products. Moreover, the company has undertaken four projects. The company is expanding clinker capacity by 2.25 million tpa to 13.65 million tonne. The project is expected to be commissioned before Q2/FY22.

Similarly, cement capacity expansion project in Kurnool is expected to be commissioned during FY23. The company is raising the cement capacity by one million tpa to 20.40 million tonne. The WHRS capacity is being increased from nine MW in Jayanthipuram and 12 MW in Kurnool. The project in Jayanthipuram is expected to be commissioned by FY22 and that in Kurnool by FY23. Apart from this, another project in the pipeline i.e. TPP capacity expansion by 18 MW to 193 MW is expected to be commissioned by FY23.
