Schwing Stetter India partners with Vellore Institute of Technology; offers engineering programme to help workforce grow

Schwing Stetter India, one of the country’s leading construction and concreting equipment manufacturer, has signed an MoU with Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Tamil Nadu to offer a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in manufacturing engineering for selected employees. This collaboration, inaugurated to celebrate the 25th year anniversary, will continue every year to reinforce the company’s commitment to continuous growth and development. This year, 25+ employees with a diploma-degree will be enrolled in this tailor-made academic programme – they will receive a 50 per cent sponsorship over the next 3.5 years from the company to complete the (7 semester) degree. Additionally, VIT will also facilitate faculty visit to Schwing Stetter India’s Global Manufacturing Hub (GmH), located in Cheyyar to conduct classes. And, employees will spend two weeks at VIT to get the campus exposure and engage with other students through projects.The event was felicitated by honourable Chancellor of VIT, Dr. G. Viswanthan and V.G Sakthikumar, Chairman and Managing Director, Schwing Stetter India. Sankar Viswanathan and Dr. G. V. Selvam, Vice Presidents of VIT, honoured the delegates from Schwing Stetter.

Our objective through this initiative is to bridge the skill gap and “As the manufacturing industry scales, opportunity to learn, understand and innovate becomes imperative for the young workforce to grow in their career ladder.
