Shyam Steel Industries has entered into a strategic agreement with the Government of Maharashtra to set up a major steel manufacturing facility in Chandrapur district, marking a significant expansion of its industrial footprint in western India. The project involves an investment exceeding Rs 10,000 crore and is expected to reinforce the state’s position as a key manufacturing hub.
The proposed plant will substantially enhance the company’s production capacity, complementing its established presence across eastern regions such as West Bengal and Jharkhand. The development is anticipated to generate over 8,000 jobs, contributing to regional economic growth and employment generation.
Beyond direct manufacturing, the project is likely to stimulate downstream industries, strengthen supply chain networks, and attract further investments into the sector. With this move, Maharashtra continues to draw large-scale industrial commitments, supported by its infrastructure readiness and policy-driven push for manufacturing expansion.
