Sreeram Venkateswaran appointed as President & Chief Business Officer for BharatBenz

Sreeram Venkateswaran has been appointed as the President and Chief Business Officer for Domestic Sales & Customer Service at Daimler India Commercial Vehicles.

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a wholly owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, has officially named Sreeram Venkateswaran as President and Chief Business Officer for Domestic Sales & Customer Service. In his new role, Sreeram will lead BharatBenz operations in India, focusing on domestic business growth, strategic partnerships, expansion of the BharatBenz sales and service network, and enhancing the brand’s reputation and product range among Indian customers. He will also oversee product strategies and elevate customer and dealer engagement.

Satyakam Arya, Managing Director & CEO of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, expressed his enthusiasm for Sreeram’s return to the company, saying, “I am pleased to welcome Sreeram Venkateswaran back to Daimler India Commercial Vehicles as we are on the path to transform the BharatBenz brand. Sreeram will be responsible for growing our domestic truck and bus businesses. His proven passion for BharatBenz, his understanding of the brand since inception, and his extensive experience in marketing, sales, and customer service in the transportation industry makes him a worthy leader to take the brand and our domestic business to the next level.”

Sreeram Venkateswaran has a rich background in the transportation sector, with over three decades of experience in sales, marketing, and brand management. His previous roles include associations with Mahindra Logistics, Hero Cycles Ltd., Bajaj Auto Ltd, Tata Motors Ltd, and Eicher Motors. Sreeram played a crucial role in the creation of the ‘BharatBenz’ brand during his previous tenure at DICV, where he contributed to defining product portfolios, establishing the sales and service network, and enhancing the customer experience at BharatBenz dealerships.

Expressing his thoughts on his new role, Sreeram Venkateswaran said, “Joining DICV after many years is a homecoming for me. I have been tracking the developments around BharatBenz over the years, and I am pleased to take on the responsibility of growing the BharatBenz business in India, engaging with stakeholders, and staying ahead of the curve, which BharatBenz is known for.”

Sreeram takes over the position from Rajaram K, who had been an integral part of DICV for over a decade and significantly contributed to the growth of BharatBenz in India. The appointment of Sreeram Venkateswaran marks a strategic move for DICV, aiming to further strengthen its presence and performance in the Indian commercial vehicle market.
