Suzlon secures major contract for 100.8 MW wind power project in Gujarat

Suzlon clinches deal for a 100.8 MW wind project in Gujarat, marking a significant stride in renewable energy development.

Suzlon Group has successfully secured a substantial contract from a leading global utility company for the establishment of a robust 100.8 MW wind power project situated in Gujarat. This pioneering initiative will involve the installation of 32 cutting-edge wind turbine generators (WTGs), each boasting a commendable rated capacity of 3.15 MW. The turbines will be equipped with hybrid lattice tubular (HLT) towers, showcasing Suzlon’s commitment to innovative solutions.

In adherence to the terms of the contract, Suzlon will spearhead the comprehensive project, taking charge of crucial phases such as supply, supervision, and commissioning. Beyond the project’s completion, Suzlon has committed to providing ongoing operation and maintenance (O&M) services, ensuring the seamless functionality of the wind power project. The electricity generated by this venture will be channeled to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL), contributing substantially to the state’s quest for clean, green, and renewable energy.

This noteworthy achievement underscores Suzlon’s overarching objective of delivering world-class wind energy solutions, catering to the needs of esteemed global entities. The company’s unwavering dedication to leveraging proven technology, extensive industry experience, and service excellence in India reinforces its commitment to customers and national energy goals.

In addition to the impressive scale of the project, the environmental impact is noteworthy. The electricity generated is poised to provide sustainable power to approximately 77,000 households while concurrently curbing an impressive 3.02 lakh ton of CO2 emissions annually. Suzlon’s turbines, proudly manufactured domestically, align with the vision of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’—an initiative promoting self-reliance.

Suzlon’s persistent focus on research and development (R&D) further sets it apart. The company’s ongoing efforts in this realm aim to enhance turbine performance, harness greater energy from low wind sites, and, crucially, reduce the overall cost of energy. This commitment to innovation positions Suzlon as a key player in advancing India’s renewable energy landscape.
