Two bridges inaugurated in J&K

Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurates 2 bridges in J&K

The Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurated Devika and Puneja bridges in Udhampur and Doda districts, Jammu and Kashmir. The Devika bridge is 10 mtr long and will help decongest traffic and see developmental needs of the Udhampur town area. The bridge will also help in smooth passage of Army convoys and vehicles. The bridge has been constructed at a cost of 75 lakh in around one year time span by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO).

The Union Minister also inaugurated 50 mtr long Puneja bridge at Bhaderwah in Doda district constructed by BRO. The bridge is being constructed at a cost of Rs four crore. Basoli-Bani-Bhaderwah road is an alternate link to the Doda, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah and Kashmir valley from Pathankot (Punjab) region without passing Jammu and Udhampur. The new connectivity and infrastructure projects will make Doda to emerge as a new centre of development. BRO has constructed over 200 bridges in the region in the last four to five years including the Atal Setu Cable Bridge to ease infrastructure bottlenecks.
