UP Govt to set up more ‘waste to energy’ power plants in collaboration with the Netherlands

The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh Government came in praise from the Netherlands Ambassador to India Marten van den Berg for the development made in the State in the past few years. “I would like to compliment the development strides made by the UP Government in these past few years since I last visited the state in 2019,” said the Dutch Ambassador who called on UP CM. He was particularly appreciative of the way the State of UP has been turned into a favourite destination for the investors. “The state ranked second in the “Ease of doing Business” is quite impressive and is the outcome of the state’s consistent efforts,” added the Dutch Ambassador.

It is worth mentioning that as a result of the sustained efforts of the state government to transform the state into an investor-friendly place, UP has jumped from the 12th position to the second position in ease of doing business rankings, leaving behind several leading states. During the meeting between Adityanath and Berg, the two also held discussions on strategies to manage solid waste and agreed on setting up ‘waste to energy’ power plants similar to the ones in Muzaffarnagar and Ghaziabad. He also mentioned Dutch collaboration in leather clusters in Kanpur.

In the course of the meeting, the discussions ranged from environmental issues and various aspects for development of the State in the field of agriculture and farming. The Dutch Ambassador also agreed to set up training centres for the dairy farmers in collaboration with the State Government.
