Visakhapatnam Port Authority sets sail towards modernisation with an agreement inked with the esteemed National Technology Centre for Ports, Waterways and Coasts, Chennai. In a momentous signing ceremony graced by Visakhapatnam Port’s dynamic chairperson, M Angamuthu, and the distinguished principal scientist of NTCPWC, D Kumaran Raju, the pact heralds a new era in maritime technology.

In the bustling port city, amidst the rhythmic waves of the Bay of Bengal, the deal was sealed, promising to revolutionise vessel traffic management systems. As Angamuthu emphasised, Vessel traffic management systems are the lifelines of contemporary maritime transportation, offering a seamless solution to monitor and regulate vessel traffic within port precincts.

Under the terms of this transformative alliance, Visakhapatnam Port commits a substantial Rs 14 crore investment over the span of a decade to avail the cutting-edge vessel traffic management services. This forward-looking initiative underscores the port’s unwavering commitment to embracing innovation and ensuring the efficiency and safety of maritime operations.
