Tata Motors has expanded its small commercial vehicle portfolio with the launch of the all-new Tata Ace Gold+ XL, marking 21 years of the iconic Tata Ace brand in India’s last-mile mobility segment. Designed for higher payload requirements and longer body applications, the new variant aims to address the evolving demands of intra-city logistics and delivery operations.
The launch also coincides with the company’s nationwide ‘Ikkis Saal Bemisaal’ campaign, celebrating entrepreneurs and small business owners who have relied on the ‘Chota Haathi’ to build and sustain their livelihoods over the years. As part of the initiative, Tata Motors is extending additional customer benefits of up to Rs 21,000 for women entrepreneurs, underlining its focus on inclusive growth and entrepreneurship development.
Launching the new vehicle, Pinaki Haldar, Vice President & Business Head – SCVPU, Tata Motors Ltd, said, “With the launch of the all-new Ace Gold+ XL, Tata Motors advances the next chapter of India’s most transformative commercial vehicle—one that continues to evolve to meet the needs of modern intra-city and last-mile logistics. Extending the Ace’s relevance into higher-load applications, the Ace Gold+ XL is designed to deliver greater efficiency, reliability, and pride of ownership for today’s entrepreneurs.
Launched in 2005, the Tata Ace pioneered India’s four-wheel small commercial vehicle category, and redefined last-mile logistics by enabling entrepreneurship at scale. The Ace’s enduring relevance is reflected in an industry-first milestone: for 21 years, one Ace has been sold every 4.25 minutes—earning the trust, respect, and loyalty of over 26 lakh owners across the country.”
The newly introduced Ace Gold+ XL has been developed to improve operational efficiency and earning potential for small transport operators. Featuring an 8-foot load body and a payload capacity of one ton, the vehicle is expected to support higher cargo volumes per trip, enabling better utilisation across urban delivery applications.
Powered by a 700cc turbocharged diesel engine, the vehicle delivers 22 PS power and 55 Nm torque. Tata Motors has equipped the model with advanced Lean NOx Trap (LNT) technology, eliminating the need for Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF). The move is expected to reduce maintenance requirements and simplify operations, while lowering the overall cost of ownership for customers.
The Ace Gold+ XL further strengthens Tata Motors’ small commercial vehicle ecosystem, which includes the Ace Pro, Ace, Intra and Yodha range, catering to payload requirements from 750 kg to 2 ton across diesel, petrol, CNG, bi-fuel and electric powertrains.
The vehicle will also be backed by Tata Motors’ Sampoorna Seva 2.0 support programme, alongside a nationwide network of more than 2,500 service and spares outlets and the Star Guru ecosystem of trained technicians.
With the launch of the Ace Gold+ XL, Tata Motors continues to reinforce its position in India’s last-mile mobility space while expanding solutions for the country’s growing logistics and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
