Maharashtra plans Rs 4,150 crore maritime complex near Vadhvan Port

The Maharashtra Government is planning to develop an integrated maritime complex worth Rs 4,150 crore near the upcoming Vadhvan Port in Palghar district as part of efforts to strengthen the state’s shipbuilding and marine infrastructure ecosystem.

The proposed facility, to be developed at Nandgaon in the Vadhvan region, will span nearly 600 acre and include shipbuilding and repair yards, dry dock infrastructure, offshore marine support services and a green ship recycling facility.

The project is expected to support Maharashtra’s ambitions of emerging as a major maritime and logistics hub while complementing the large-scale Vadhvan Port development currently underway in the region.

Apart from enhancing industrial capabilities, the maritime complex is also expected to generate employment opportunities and boost economic activity linked to coastal infrastructure, marine engineering and the broader blue economy sector.
