Your take on the current business climate in the country.
Going by statistics, India emerges as the fastest growing major economy globally and is expected to be one of the top three economic powers of the world. Investments are taking place in various sectors of the economy. With a 7 per cent GDP growth rate, I think India is an exciting economy to participate in. We are very keen on the developments taking place in the manufacturing sector. Initiatives like Make in India and sector specific initiatives are aimed at making India a global manufacturing hub.
What are the emerging technology trends in this sector?
IoT and making smart solutions than just products tops the list. We are also excited to move from an OEM supplier to a supplier of smart and intelligent solutions to our customers. We operate by one motto – Where there is a problem, there is a solution. At ElectroMech, we are fascinated with the use of technology in our material handling equipment. Be it wi-fi synchronisation of cranes, remote monitoring of cranes, automation and telemetry for forklifts. We have demonstrated this time and again.
What kind of support do you offer to the customers through your sustained R&D efforts and how it has helped them?
Our subsidiary Cranedge is the service arm of ElectroMech. Regular maintenance of equipment help our customers plan preventive maintenance and avoid surprises caused by sudden breakdowns. In addition, modernization, relocation, refurbishment, capacity enhancement, overhauling save them tons of capex. Backed by India’s leader in the EOT cranes, Cranedge is a name customers rely on. Our engineering team is in constant pursuit of newer solutions which can be offered to our customers.
What is that gamechanger move which makes ElectroMech retain its lead position in this challenging business environment?
We are working on multiple fronts. Expansion of product portfolio including cranes, forklifts, rollers, pushers & pull, pull & manoeuvres makes us a one stop shop for all the material handling requirements for various industrial applications. With Cranedge, we are also the only service supplier in the industry. Geographical expansion is also our focus areas. We are present in close to 60 countries by way of our references, agent network and subsidiaries.
Are you planning to invest in any major capacity expansion soon?
With our factory spread over 80,000 sq m, we have enough capacity in place to serve the market. Thus, we do not see any immediate plans of any major capex. We have recently started operations in Indonesia, which constitutes one of the major moves to expand in neighbouring countries.
