Andhra Pradesh Govt to invest Rs 11,000 crore for power sector revamping

The Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to implement a Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) with an investment of around Rs 11,000 crore with the support of the Union Government. As per reports, special Chief Secretary (Energy), K Vijayanand, has stated that the RDSS will strengthen the power utilities to a large extent and help in providing high quality power to all categories of consumers and the Government is taking special measures to increase the power generation capacity in the State in order to ensure uninterrupted power supply Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Station unit – III (800MW). It will be operational by May and would also help in strengthening the power distribution system, reduce losses and enhance operational efficiency.
