Andhra Pradesh to set up 33 GW hydro power storage plants

The energy department of the Andhra Pradesh plans to set up pumped hydro storage power projects in various districts with a total capacity of 33.24 gigawatt. The Andhra Pradesh government has identified 1.45 lakh acre in Kadapa, Kurnool, Anantapur districts for these proposed renewable energy parks. It is said that non-conventional energy development corporation of Andhra Pradesh (NREDCAP) has already established 109 charging stations. According to sources, it will set up another 400 chargers across the state and along the national highways at every 25 km distance.
