APSEZ, Gujarat Govt sign MoU to setup largest multi-model logistics park

The Gujarat Government has entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ), to set up India’s largest multi-modal logistics park. The park will be spread across 1,450 acre at Virochan Nagar near Sanand automobile hub. The multi-model logistics park will attract investment of Rs 50,000 crore. This park will be directly connected with the Dedicated Freight Corridor and all major ports. The park will have a dedicated Air Cargo Complex with 4.6 km runway to make it capable of handling large carrier vehicles like airplanes. Moreover, a rail freight terminal will also be established. This will be directly connected to the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor. There will also be a warehouse zone with 90 lakh sq ft area to provide an air freight station with a capacity of 4.5 tonne, grade-A warehouse, cold storage, among others. Also there are plans for shopping plaza/business centre with a total retail footprint of over three lakh sq ft. A dedicated skill development centre will be set up to ensure availability of skilled manpower. The construction work will begin within six months post the necessary statutory approvals. The project is expected to be completed by 2023.
