Bihar CM inaugurates Sattarghat Bridge on Gandak River

The Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated two projects of the Road Construction Department (RCD). These include a high-level RCC bridge on Gandak River at Sattarghat under Kesaria block of East Champaran district. The bridge is constructed at a cost of Rs 263.48 crore. The project has reduced road distance between different towns of East Champaran to Gopalganj, Siwan and Saran districts. The foundation stone for RCC bridge on Gandak River at Sattarghat was laid in 2012. The Chief Minister also inaugurated a newly-built bypass road along with two road over bridges in Lakhisarai town built at a total construction cost of Rs 146.31 crore. Also, the foundation stone was laid for another bypass road in Sasaram.

The proposed bypass road in Sasaram from Beda to Moker will entail an investment of Rs 122.39 crore. Apart from this, the Chief Minister inaugurated Kunder barrage construction scheme in Lakhisarai district’s Chanan block and four other irrigation schemes in Suryagarha block. The Chief Minister also announced construction of a 23.5 km long new road from Barahiya to Suryagarha via Khuthan at a cost of Rs 50 crore. RCD has already prepared a detailed project report (DPR) for the road project.
