In its humble bid to contribute to the social and national cause, Dalmia Bharat Group, one of India’s leading conglomerates, has committed Rs 25 crore to PM-Cares Fund as part of its endeavour to assist the government’s massive offensive against COVID 19.

“The world is coming together to defeat the dreaded virus, COVID 19 and as a responsible corporate, it is our duty to show solidarity with the government in this fight. Both the centre and state governments have so far done an exceptional job to contain the outbreak of COVID and they need our support and cooperation at this juncture to comprehensively beat the global pandemic,” said Puneet Dalmia, MD, Dalmia Bharat Group.

Taking all the measures to contain the spread of COVID-19, the group has suspended production across all its plants including cement, sugar and refractories units in India. Ration, grocery and accommodation is being provided to the contractual labourers who were stuck due to the nation-wide lockdown and stoppage of all transportation.

The Group has also committed the playgrounds, guest houses and technical centres across plants and regions to the local authorities for using them as facilities for tackling Covid 19 cases. The canteens of the Dalmia Bharat plants across India are also being used to prepare food for local distribution in the regions.

In order to instil financial confidence among the employees, the company has paid salary to its employees ahead of schedule while contractual workers are being given bi-monthly payments so they don’t have to wait till month end to buy essential commodities.
