Flyover inaugurated to decongest Narela-Bawana area

Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal inaugurated a 1.68-km-long flyover-cum-road overbridge at the railway crossing between Narela and Bawana in north Delhi . The flyover-cum- road-over-bridge is in sync with a plan to decongest Delhi and put special emphasis on  development of Narela. The ROB will provide smooth connectivity between densely populated Narela and Bawana, which are upcoming residential as well as industrial hubs in North-West Delhi.

The length of straight portion of the ROB is 1,680 m and is built at a cost of Rs 389 crore. The project is funded by the Urban Development Fund (UDF) of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, with 80 per cent share of UDF and 20 per cent share of DDA. The bridge has been constructed with RCC piers, pre-stressed girders, RCC slabs in 735 m length and 945 m long RE walls in approaches.
