Gadkari lays foundation stones for 9 NH projects in Tripura

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation stones of nine highway projects in Tripura to be built at over Rs 2,752 crore. The 262 km long road projects will be instrumental in increasing tourism in trade and will further boost the connectivity in North East. It will also improve the lives of people by reducing logistic costs, as per reports. The projects, on completion, will provide faster and hassle-free inter-state and international connectivity to Bangladesh and will be a major stride towards strengthening the tourism sector of the state, added reports.

The minister has laid the foundation stones for nine projects which includes, 21.4 km of Jolaibari-Belonia 108 (A) national highway at a cost of Rs 201.99 cr, Kailashahar-Kumarghat national highway 208 at a cost of Rs 277.50 crore, 12.90 km long Khayerpur-Amtali (bypass) at a cost of Rs 147 crore, Agartala-Khowai 108B National Road at a cost of Rs 480.19 crore, 35.46 km long Kailashahar-Kurti national highway 208 (A) at a cost of Rs 473.49 crore, Manu-Shimlung 44 A national highway at a cost of Rs 595.12 crore. These also includes two RCC bridges over river Gomati and Muhuri and development of 74.85 long national highway-8 from Churaibari to Agartala.
