The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has accorded environmental clearance to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for development of Raipur-Vizag Economic Corridor’s Odisha and Andhra Pradesh section under Bharatmala Pariyojana. The project involves development of economic corridors, inter-corridors, feeder routes and coastal road primarily to improve efficiency of freight movement on Raipur-Visakhapatnam in the state of Odisha. The proposed NH is a greenfield alignment project and proposed for six-lane carriageway. The project highway starts from Dhanara village in Nabarangpur district to Tumbigura village in Koraput with a total length of 240.372 km. The cost of the project is Rs 7,238 crore.

The project highway starts from Salur village in Vizianagaram district to Sabbavaram village in Visakhapatnam and 99.629 km long. The cost of the project is Rs 3,183 crore.
