Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurates Central ATFM Complex

Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurated the Central Command Centre for Air Traffic Flow Management (ATFM) and said it is an “absolute necessity” to ensure higher standards of safety. As major airports are facing capacity constraints, the central ATFM system balances the capacity against the demand to achieve optimum utilization of airport, airspace and aircraft as per reports. The central ATFM system integrates flight data from various subsystems like ATC Automation System, flight updates and messages. The system displays weather information along with static information about airports, airspaces and air routes. After successfully implementing the Air Traffic Flow Management System, India has become seventh country after the US, Europe, Australia, South Africa, Japan, Brazil.
