Indian Railways begins work on longest railway tunnel in Madhya Pradesh

The Indian Railways has started work on a challenging project of constructing the longest railway tunnel in Madhya Pradesh. Under the project, which is expected to be completed by 2025, the rail tunnel stretching from Rewa to Sidhi is to be constructed. Its total length will be around 3,338 m and pass through Chuhia Valley that divides Rewa and Sidhi districts. This tunnel will be a single-line underground project and the stretch between Govindgarh-Bagwar stations will be called as 01 Tunnel. Chuhia is one of the busiest routes and this tunnel will help reduce travel time on the route substantially.
