The road connecting Pithoragarh to Kailash Mansarovar will be ready by end of 2023 and will help Indian pilgrims to visit the holy place without entering Nepal. The Ring Road project in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh which is expected to be ready by end of 2022. Apart from this, several other big-budget projects such as the Buddha circuit (Rs 20,000 crore); Chardham circuit (Rs 12,000 crore), etc are expected to be ready by the end of 2023.
Other important National Highway projects which are expected to improve the connectivity and reduce the travel time drastically are the Srinagar – Mumbai Highway (20 hours); Delhi-Mumbai (12 hours); Delhi-Dehradun (two hours); Delhi-Ahmedabad (four hours). These NH projects will be completed on a priority basis. The government is also considering the introduction of road tram projects in the lines of Kolkata tram service and ropeways in different parts of the country to unlock the transportation-related bottlenecks and boost tourism, as per reports.
