LiuGong India has strengthened its manufacturing presence in the country with the inauguration of a new production facility at Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the Indian market and the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. The facility was inaugurated by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, who highlighted the state’s growing role as a manufacturing and industrial investment destination while acknowledging the company’s contribution to advancing sustainable and green technologies.
The new manufacturing plant has been equipped with advanced production technologies and modern manufacturing systems to support the increasing demand for construction equipment across infrastructure, mining, road construction, and material handling sectors. The expansion is expected to improve production capacity, strengthen local manufacturing capabilities, and further enhance LiuGong India’s ability to serve customers across the country.
As part of the inauguration, LiuGong showcased more than 100 machines from its construction equipment portfolio, including excavators, wheel loaders, motor graders, compactors, skid steer loaders, mining equipment, aerial work platforms, material handling solutions, and electric construction equipment. The display offered customers, dealers, contractors, and industry stakeholders an opportunity to experience the company’s latest technologies and interact with its engineering and product teams.
A key attraction of the event was a live machine demonstration featuring LiuGong’s latest equipment operating under simulated job-site conditions. The showcase highlighted machine performance, productivity, fuel efficiency, operator comfort, and advanced technology designed to meet the evolving requirements of India’s construction and mining industries.
Senior executives from LiuGong’s global leadership team also outlined the company’s long-term growth strategy for India, with a focus on localisation, manufacturing expansion, technological innovation, and the development of equipment tailored to Indian operating conditions. The event also served as a networking platform for contractors, infrastructure developers, mining companies, dealers, financial institutions, and other industry participants to discuss emerging opportunities in the sector.
The commissioning of the new facility comes amid sustained investments in India’s infrastructure landscape, including highways, railways, mining, ports, renewable energy, urban development, and industrial projects. By expanding its manufacturing base, LiuGong India aims to contribute to the country’s construction equipment ecosystem through increased localisation, employment generation, and enhanced manufacturing capabilities, supporting India’s ambition to emerge as a global manufacturing hub.
