ACME Solar scales up battery storage capacity to 3.62 GWh across Rajasthan projects

ACME Solar Holdings has significantly strengthened its energy storage capabilities by increasing its operational battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity to a cumulative 3.62 GWh across three project locations in Rajasthan. The expansion represents a major step in the company’s efforts to support grid reliability and facilitate greater integration of renewable energy into India’s power network.

During the current financial year, the company commissioned approximately 2.29 GWh of additional battery storage capacity, taking its operational BESS portfolio from around 2.03 GWh at the beginning of 2026 to 3.62 GWh. The enhanced storage infrastructure is designed to improve the availability of renewable power by enabling electricity to be supplied during periods of peak demand while reducing fluctuations associated with intermittent generation.

In parallel with its storage expansion, ACME Solar has grown its contracted renewable energy portfolio to 8,070 MW. Of this, 2,990 MW is already operational, while 5,080 MW is under various stages of development. The company has also secured Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for 3,880 MW of its under-construction capacity, providing greater long-term revenue certainty for upcoming projects.

The expanded battery storage network strengthens ACME Solar’s integrated renewable energy strategy, combining clean power generation with large-scale storage solutions to improve grid resilience, enhance power reliability, and support India’s transition towards a more sustainable and flexible energy system.
